I have a new Gear Line up .. and VERY soon will have a TON of cool shots to post here ..
I have a second 1D MK2 ( TWINS !)
this is Ideal as I can choose 2 lens for a day and keep them on the body's . eliminates the chance I drop a lens during a swap ,
and really cuts back on dust on the sensor lens ect ..
I fixed my 28-105 F3.5 ( loose wires)
I fixed my 24-85 F3.5 ( loose Screws)
I bought a 50 mm F1.8 Prime ( why not ! its only $100 USD ) .. a pricey Lens cap IMO.. but shoots REALLY good
I have 2 new 4GB CF cards to dedicate to the cam on there way .
and 2 New Batts so I can Get the rated 900+ shots . not crappy 100
I DO need to get a new ( to me) S5-IS .. I miss mine as a day cam . lugging a 1D is not easy and it puts at risk my Best gear .. My Old S5 lived for 4 years . I had it on me Ill bet 80% of the time so it got loved a TON .
its last month it had a LCD Flip Switch failure and then on Ham radio field day it was dropped .
iI knew months in advance it was time to replace it .
thankfully its a cheap cam to me ... 199 is not to bad to wing . not at all
I can Dream !
But want I REALLY want to have to solve my lens delema
is a 20-105 F2.8
NOT L !!! NOT EF-S
and it be 1000 USD
I NEED the 2.8 . I love the pop it makes with my 50 1.8 Prime ...
dammit canon I know most who need a 2.8 are loaded with $$ and those who use Full frame or APS-H are loaded and use L glass but I doubt Ill See it on a cam that is 8.5 MP..... But I WILL see the F 2.8 any day .
the 24-70 F2.8 L is Very close but if they had a non L for 699 VS 1200 I would jump on it SO fast ..
Looks like canon is really splting up there system
all the low and mid are in one corner and its EF-S .. or you get a FF or APS-H and its L glass and 1200 a lens ..
the last Good mid lens was the 28-135 F3.5 IS USM .......... ( I need the 24 .not 28 on the low end .. SO close .
and hell the Primes are not cheap . if a 50mm is 100 USD why not a 24mm and a 14mm for the 100-200 USD range
I dont need L .. !
I have considered FD mount stuff and a ring adapter but the 1.3 Sensor and on top of a 1.2 X on the ring adds up to make a 14mm look not as good as a deal as it seams ....
Nikon has a better Mid line lens line up in the Wide domain .
Peter...
